Powerful Monitoring
Avere FXT Series Edge filers sit between the application clients, servers, and Core filers and provide powerful insight into the operation of the entire NAS environment. The Avere user interface provides detailed performance monitoring, including a graphical display of current and historical operations/second, throughput, and latency statistics. Active files on the Core filers are identified in “hot file” lists. The most active application clients and servers are displayed in “hot client” lists. Client and storage side network activity is broken down by NFS operation type. Drilling down on specific clients, storage systems, and NFS operation types enables fine-grain analysis. Histograms (a.k.a. "heat maps") provide high definition statistics for pinpointing specific behavior. The Avere UI graphing capabilities are feature rich and support comparing, hovering, panning, locking, saving and more.

Simplified Administration
Installation of the FXT Series cluster is accomplished in minutes via a secure web interface from any browser. All activities related to managing the cluster are performed from the Avere user interface. The "dashboard" on the user interface provides a single window for all operation monitoring and change notifications for any events or conditions on the cluster.
