Oracle
Because Oracle combines capacity-rich data warehouses and performance-hungry OLTP data files, Oracle databases are a challenge to configure efficiently. With traditional storage this often results in an expensive solution with all data files stored on 15k drives, an unresponsive solution with all data files stored on SATA drives, or a hybrid solution that is difficult to manage and requires the administrator to set up complex policies that require constant attention and adjustment.

Avere provides a much more efficient approach. In the Avere architecture, all Oracle data files are stored on high-density SATA storage for optimal cost, power, and space efficiency. Then, as various indexes or data subsets in a tablespace become active, tiering functionality running on FXT Edge filers automatically moves the active data to high-performance RAM and SSD tiers for optimal responsiveness, freeing the DBA from these tasks. Additionally, the FXT Series supports clustering up to 50 nodes per system to ensure that Oracle data files are always available and that it is simple to scale the solution as demand grows.
