Avere is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. To that end, we have prepared this privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") to describe our information gathering and dissemination practices and our data protection practices for (i) the website located at (the “Site”) and (ii) any services or products provided by Avere, including Avere’s Cloud File System (CFS) as a Service (collectively with the Site, the “Products”). This Privacy Policy does not apply to services or products that have separate privacy policies that do not incorporate this Privacy Policy. The terms "Avere," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Avere Systems, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates. The terms "you," "your," and "yours" refer to the user/customer accessing, utilizing or receiving the Products. This Privacy Policy is governed by and is incorporated into our Terms of Use located at,, as it applies to the Site, or the Terms of Use, Service Terms and Conditions, or other terms provided to you by Avere for your use of the Products. Reference to “Products” in this Privacy Policy shall mean all Products collectively or a Product individually, as applicable.

Avere is a subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation (“Microsoft”).  This Privacy Policy does not apply to any products or services provided by Microsoft.



The Products are not intended for or directed to persons under the age of 13, and we will not knowingly collect information from such persons. Any person who provides information to us through registration or in any other manner through its use of the Products represents to Avere that they are 13 years of age or older. If we learn that a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible.


Collection of Information

 "Personally Identifiable Information" means any information which can be used to identify an individual, and may include, but is not limited to, name, email address, postal or other physical address, title, or occupation. We collect the following Personally Identifiable Information from you when you register for the Product or enter contact information: name, company, title, email address, phone number, and postal address. To participate in certain activities and to obtain certain services or documents offered through the Products, you may be asked to provide additional Personally Identifiable Information. We endeavor to limit our requests for Personally Identifiable Information to information we believe is reasonably necessary to achieve our purposes as described in the "Information Use" section below. You can choose not to provide us with certain information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of some of the Products’ features. Personally Identifiable Information collected through the Products may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Avere or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using the Products, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country. Avere primarily stores information in the United States. We use our affiliates for data storage and retention, when we do, the data transfers occur according to the policies of our affiliates.


Preview or Free of Charge Releases

Avere offers preview, insider, beta or other free-of-charge products and features ("previews") to enable you to evaluate them while providing feedback, including performance and usage data, to both Avere. As a result, previews can automatically collect additional data, provide fewer controls, and otherwise employ different privacy and security measures than those typically present in our products. If you participate in previews, we may contact you about your feedback or your interest in continuing to use the product after general release.

We will update this privacy statement when necessary to reflect customer feedback and changes in our products.
