vFXT for Cloud Bursting & Cloud NAS

The Virtual FXT (vFXT) Edge filers act as network-attached storage (NAS) in the compute cloud, freeing your data to be stored anywhere, while giving you complete functionality. The vFXT works to:

  • Connect your on-premises storage (NFS and SMB) to cloud compute resources (Cloud Bursting), or
  • Build a NAS for the cloud, optimizing the use of public cloud storage with its cloud compute conterpart (Cloud NAS), or
  • Build both Cloud Bursting and Cloud NAS into a flexible enterprise hybrid infrastructure
  • Support a pay-as-you-go model with hourly, monthly or annual pricing

Cloud Bursting from On-Premises Storage

Organizations use the vFXT to leave data on-premises while leveraging cloud compute resources to augment or replace on-premises compute, providing additional compute capacity for peak periods in workflows or to avoid adding additional servers as demand increases.

Create an Enterprise Cloud NAS

The vFXT Edge filer can also be used to create an enterprise-grade NAS in the public cloud. Leverage low-cost cloud storage for applications running in the compute cloud.

  • Scalability - clustering up to 24 nodes
  • Erase cloud latency – powerful cloud cache tiers data for optimal performance
  • Support for NFS, SMB and multi-protocol architectures
  • Keep data safe with powerful AES 256-encryption
  • Protect data with Cloud Snapshots
  • Insights with powerful analytics
